Opened in February 2022, Lamai International Nursery is an English-speaking nursery school in Koh Samui, for children aged two to four years. We follow the British Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum (EYFS), with an emphasis on an outdoor-inspired approach. Led by a UK qualified teacher and five full-time teaching assistants, we have a class size of 24 children. Our 1:4 adult to child ratio allows us to better support each child’s individual learning, as well as each member of staff developing strong positive relationships with every child.

All our children share the same learning space, with this collaborative learning environment allowing and encouraging our children to support their peers and become confident role models with understanding of others’ feelings. We provide extensive learning opportunities to support our children in becoming well-rounded and independent individuals.
Our children choose their own activities, allowing them to naturally develop their decision-making ability. We also encourage our children to learn and ask for support from their peers, as well as our staff. We value open-ended activities that promote creativity, independence and confidence. Our activities change every day, but the areas of learning and development remain the same, allowing our children to build upon their learning experience from the previous day. We recognise the importance of educating our children to be environmentally conscious and to practice sustainability.
